On The Road Again...

Unfortunately I have to go to Missouri tomorrow. Going to Missouri is never a bad thing, but under the circumstances this time will be a little gloomy. My great-grandmother passed away this past weekend, so we are making the trip for the visitation and funeral. The rest of the week will be used as a little impromptu vacation. Going to get to see some family and friends I haven't seen in months which is always a good thing - plus this time my gas is getting paid for!

In other news, my summer internship is over. It was a pretty good internship considering it was not paid. I got to see and do a lot of things that will help me in the future. It seems like it would be a pretty good place to work for - I mean pop-a-shot basketball, free cappucinnos and slushies in the breakroom, beer and margaritas on Friday's, and a whole slew of other perks - not bad. We will see if I throw them a resume once it comes job searching time.

Tomorrow is my Finance final. Last test I set the curve - because I am a genius. C's all summer, then an A. Good thing I got that A, because I am not sure how I will do tomorrow so it will help with the overall average.

Last test before I got my A, I was out until 2a.m. playing poker with Bob. Bob isn't in town this week, but I can still stay out late playing poker. A little superstition never hurt :)

Well Crap

So the beginning of this past weekend was a lot of fun. Bob and his buddy Mike came in town for a weekend of golf and poker. I won a little playing poker, and shot the best golf round of my life. The front 9 was horrid, but the back nine was 5 par's, 2 birdies, a bogey, and two double bogey's. If it wasn't for a couple of missed 5-8ft missed puts i would have been near par for the back 9.

Anyhoo, on Saturday night it hit. A day of not healthy eating, a couple of beers, and a very odd colored golf course hot dog lead to a night of throwing up, nausea, sweats, and # 62's (for those who count when they go to the bathroom like i still do - a 62 is way past a #1, or #2. ha.) I am still not sure if it was just food poisining as I now hear that for the past few days Bob and Mike have been throwing up and now Heather doesn't feel very well. Damn, I guess I gave them the flu or something. Sorry for that.

The new casino down here is pretty snazzy - well for an indian casino it is. You can tell they went to Vegas and looked at some of those casino's so they could modernize this one a little, but you can still tell it is ran by some feather-heads. Oh well. There is plenty of good poker action on plenty of tables - which is all I really are about.

This weekend my dad is coming in town for the first time since I have moved to Oklahoma. He is only staying a few days on the family's way back to Missouri. I am trying to think of a few good things to do as this will be their real first impression of OKC.

Not much else going on this week. Trying to finalize the wedding guest list. If you want on the VIP list to the party of the century send bribe money directly to me in the form of cash, check, or money order.

Playing Host

This month and next are going to be pretty busy, but should also be fun. This past weekend my old buddy Dustin came into town. Always a good time with him. Lots of drinking, and bullshitting around. Can't complain there. One night we actually went bowling. Haven't been bowling in probably a few years. I can tell my masterful bowling skills have since become merely mediocre due to my absence from the game. One funny thing from that night though is that 5 times in a row, and numerous time throughout the night, Dustin would knock all the pins down on the first roll except the 7 pin, then proceed to miss on his spare opportunity. I don't know why the bowling Gods hate Dustin, but they sent that pin to taunt him all night long...and it worked.

This weekend Bob and one of his work friends are coming down for golfing and gambling. I blow at golf but love the game. Should be a great weekend.

Weekend after that, Dad and siblings in town.

Weekend after Stu in town.

Weekend after a break.

Weekend after Gran and Grandad in town.

5 out of 6 weekends I will have guests, but it really does make the time go by quick. Unfortunately it doesnt leave much time to catch up on sleep on the weekends like I normally do. Oh well. The sacrifices I make are amazing to me sometimes.

I Got Nothin

Not a whole lot has been going on lately. My mom, sister, and one of her friends came down for the 4th. It was fun, but 3 chicks in the house for 3 days was almost too much to handle. They left, I slept. It was fantastic.

One of my summer school classes is over with and I am pleased to say I managed a B. Not that impressive by itself, but when you consider that fact that I never got higher than a 72 on any test, it becomes extremely impressive. Got to love the curve!

Internship is going well. It will be even nicer when I can get a job that actually pays me.

Not much else.
